Daredevil Will Become Spider-Man’s New Mentor For One Dark Reason In MCU Theory
Summary
- Daredevil could become Spider-Man's mentor in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 due to their previous interactions and Daredevil's own experiences with inner darkness.
- Spider-Man may gain a black symbiote suit in Spider-Man 4, potentially leading to a darker and more violent storyline for the character.
- The events of Spider-Man: No Way Home set the stage for a darker and more grounded story for Spider-Man, with Peter Parker facing great loss and dealing with his own darkness from No Way Home, something Daredevil could help him navigate and overcome.
A new MCU theory suggests Daredevil could become the perfect mentor for Peter Parker in
Spider-Man 4. With rumors and hopes persisting that the upcoming Spider-Man movie will be more grounded with more of a street-level perspective, a team-up between Spider-Man and Daredevil would make sense, especially after Matt Murdock served as Peter's lawyer in No Way Home. However, Daredevil is also in a perfect position to help Peter Parker with what could be one of the biggest challenges he's ever had to face.
As seen in previous MCU Spider-Man movies, other heroes such as Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and even alternate Peter Parkers from other universes have come alongside Tom Holland's Webslinger, offering support and guidance. To that end, Matt Murdock could become a strong mentor for Spider-Man for one dark and very important reason. Here's why
Daredevil could very well be Spider-Man's next MCU mentor and greatest ally yet.

As seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits scene, a piece of symbiote was left in the primary MCU after Eddie Brock and Venom were sent back to Sony's Marvel universe. This is a major tease that Tom Holland's Peter Parker may soon get his very own Symbiote Saga in the MCU, assuming he comes into contact with the symbiote and gains his iconic black suit from the original comics. In this way, the comic origins of Venom on-screen would effectively be flipped: rather than Spider-Man having the symbiote first before Eddie Brock, it's the other way around.
One can imagine that black-suited Spider-Man in the MCU would be more violent and full of aggression, just as was seen in the comics. After all, increasing brutality due to the symbiote's influence is what convinced Peter Parker to finally abandon the symbiote which had gradually begun corrupting his typically heroic (and non-lethal) behavior. To that end, a darker arc motivated by a new black symbiote suit makes all kinds of sense for Spider-Man 4 considering all that happened to Parker in No Way Home.
Spider-Man 4 Will Likely Be Darker And More Grounded Spider-Man Is Facing Great Loss And Darkness
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker was outed to the world as Spider-Man thanks to Mysterio. This led to an incredibly divisive public opinion about the Walcrawler that was only made worse by the MCU's J. Jonah Jameson who continually painted him as a threat and menace to the city of New York. Likewise, it also meant that Peter's friends and family were affected as well. Likewise, the multiversal mayhem caused by Doctor Strange's spell which Spider-Man accidentally broke saw the Green Goblin murdering Peter's Aunt May, triggering an intense desire on Peter's part for revenge.
Although Spider-Man nearly succeeded in murdering the Green Goblin, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man stepped in, allowing Holland's Spider-Man to calm down and send all the villains home to their respective universes via a new spell, one that made the entire world forget Peter (including his loved ones). As such, this has led to Peter Parker now being on his own in New York as a lone vigilante.
Because another Spider-Man intervened, one could also argue that the MCU's Peter Parker still has some inherent darkness within him which he'll still need to overcome in the future. As such, the end of No Way Home sets the stage nicely for a darker and more grounded Spider-Man 4 story, one where Peter's darkness is perhaps exacerbated by a new black symbiote suit.

Daredevil Could Help Spider-Man Overcome His Inner-Darkness Daredevil Has His Own Black Suit Era Close The idea of a street-level Spider-Man 4 is very exciting, especially if Spider-Man comes into conflict with Wilson Fisk's Kingpin and his imminent campaign to become New York's mayor. If that indeed happens, joining forces with Matt Murdock'sDaredevill is more than logical. However, Daredevil is also perfectly suited to help Spider-Man with any darkness he may still have which could threaten to overwhelm him.
Matt Murdock has his own experiences battling inner darkness and fighting the desire to cross lines that should never be crossed. To that end, much of that journey seen in Daredevil season 3 takes place with
Daredevil coincidentally wearing his original black suit rather than the more established red suit and horned mask. To that end, if anyone could help the MCU's Spider-Man overcome a potential period of loss and rising darkness, it's Daredevil.
While confirmed,
Spider-Man 4 is still in development with no set release date.
