Superman & Lois Star Addresses Sequel Story Idea After DC Show"s 2024 Ending
While
Superman & Lois ended the Arrowverse in 2024, one of the leading actors proposes the ideal DC sequel. The end to the Arrowverse franchise came with one of the most emotional series finales of all time as Lois Lane and Clark Kent"s stories came to a definitive end on The CW in the last season of Superman & Lois. While the DC TV drama may have ended its run, there are a few story beats in the world of Superman & Lois that they could still explore if the series was ever to return.
In a new interview with ScreenRant"s own Joe Deckelmeier at the Multicon LA Wildfire Benefit, Elizabeth Tulloch, who played Lois Lane in Superman & Lois for 4 seasons - as well as in previous Arrowverse crossovers - was asked what would be the perfect story for Jordan and Jonathan Kent if the Super-Sons were ever to get featured again in a continuation. Tulloch discussed the idea of a college spinoff series for Lois and Clark"s sons,
exploring what their lives could look like in a post-Superman & Lois series finale world prior to the flashforward, sharing the following:
Bitsie Tulloch: It"d be interesting to see them having to figure out what it"s like to handle the way that Jonathan got his powers all at once, and whether that would cause any friction with the boys going forward. Given their age, they [could tackle] college. What would college be like for them? Obviously, they"re public figures because they were sort of outed, so to speak, as superheroes.
Yeah, never say never. Everyone"s always saying, "Could it be revived in some way?" And at the end of the day, it"s a superhero show, so anything could happen. But I like the way we finished the series, and I"m proud of how Todd [Helbing] and Brent [Fletcher] and the writers stuck the landing, especially given the fact that we were dealing with budget and cast cuts.
What Elizabeth Tulloch's Superman & Lois Comments Mean Close Tulloch isn"t the only Superman & Lois star who has shared support for a Jordan and Jonathan spinoff series. In a December 2024 interview with ScreenRant, Superman & Lois" Alex Garfin, who played Jordan,
shared that he had been thinking of a very similar idea about following the boys in college while adding a twist of his own. Garfin explained that the "college" that Jordan and Jonathan would be attending was, in fact, operated by the DoD, as he shared the following:
Alex Garfin: Yeah, actually, I was coming up with an idea for a spin-off at one point when Jordan and Jonathan are finally going to "college." The college turns out to be set up by the DoD, and it"s this place that the DoD is kind of keeping all these super-kids prisoner. In a way, it"s a lot like the Tag Harris storyline, but it went [in] a bit of a different direction in that it turns out that this is actually an old, outdated program from the Soviet era, and that they"re keeping these kids almost like nuclear weapons, because the Soviets still have theirs. And eventually they"re fighting each other, but then they ended up teaming up, realizing that they were fighting other people"s wars and toppling governments. It got really political and strange and kind of a little more global. I would love to make that show a reality one of these days, I really would.
It"s clear that the easiest way to continue Superman & Lois would be through Jonathan and Jordan,
especially now that they are both operating as different version of Superboy. This kind of Superman & Lois spinoff would also allow Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin to reprise their roles while letting the twins have a bigger focus. Given how Superman & Lois was so heavily rooted in Smallville - and Metropolis from time to time - seeing the Kent boys find their place in the world would also be a natural way to get them away from their hometown.

Since Superman & Lois came to an abrupt end after only 4 seasons,
this would be a solid idea for a spinoff series that could also fit into DC Studios" Elseworlds banner. Even though The CW is done with superhero shows, there is always the Max platform, where a show centered on the Superboys could live and thrive for a number of seasons. But until that happens, fans can always relive every single season of
Superman & Lois through Blu-ray/DVD and on streaming.
