The Boys Image Showcases Supe"s Movie Collection (Including One Mocking The MCU)
Gen V, a spinoff of The Boys, is already mocking the Marvel Cinematic Universe with its newest image. While The Boys is known for its sharp and gory satire of superhero movies and shows, Gen V offers a youth-oriented twist. Revolving around a school for supes, Gen V will tell the story of what it would really look like if random teenagers are given superhuman powers by mysterious corporate entities.
Despite how different Gen V intends to be from other young superhero flicks, it is still willing to take the time to make fun of the MCU's many movie phases in its most recent promotional image.
Some of the posters, as seen in the tweet above, explore Vought Studio's Phase 7 movies, some of which are strikingly similar to the MCU. Nubian Prince looks to be parodying Black Panther, Queen Maeve is standing in for Captain Marvel, and Rising Tide is very reminiscent of Iron Man.
Will The Seven Be Appearing In Gen V?
While it has been happy to play on the MCU, the Gen V trailer has already shown that it isn't afraid to introduce heavy ties to The Boys as well. The ever-horrified Ashley (Colby Minifie) has already made an appearance, as has the conflicted member of the Seven, A-Train (Jessie T. Usher). A shining bronze statue of Homelander (Antony Starr) in front of the school also gives the impression that the Seven will be a major part of Gen V.
