The upcoming Star Wars Outlaws is set to take place during the same point on the timeline as Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, which means that it would be a great opportunity for developers to bring some of those characters in for longtime fans of the franchise to see. Shadows of the Empire may no longer be considered canon since the reworking of the Star Wars media, but it remains a nostalgic piece of history for many. The epic tale also featured many incredible characters who deserve a comeback, and the new Star Wars Outlaws could just be the perfect way for that to happen.
Similar to Shadows of the Empire, Star Wars Outlaws takes place on Star Wars' timeline between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The game will focus on the more criminal workings separate from the political battle between the Empire and the Jedi, with scoundrel Kay Vess as the main protagonist. As Kay, players will get to attempt to pull off the biggest heist ever recorded, which also provides a perfect crossover possibility for Shadows of the Empire bounty hunters and other key characters.
