Even Star-Lord Admits That Thanos" Infinity War Victory Was His Fault

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Five years since Avengers: Infinity War, even Star-Lord admits that Thanos' win was his fault. Thanks to Gamora and Nebula's ties to the Titan, the Guardians of the Galaxy got involved in the Avengers' fight against the villain towards the end of the Infinity Saga. Avengers: Infinity War marked their first collaboration, with Star-Lord and some of his team members working with Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man in Titan to ambush Thanos. Despite a rather haphazard plan, the heroes got so close to stopping the villain by swiping the Infinity Gauntlet. Unfortunately, Peter Quill's emotional breakdown jeopardized their scheme.
Star-Lord's attack on Thanos came after realizing that the purple alien had killed Gamora. This woke him from the Mantis-induced trance that he was in and allowed him to fight off the heroes. In the end, he succeeded in defeating all of them and securing the Time Stone from Doctor Strange. Quill's catastrophic mistake was a turning point in Avengers: Infinity War. However, because he was dusted, there hasn't been any opportunity to really delve into his actions. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 effectively addresses the matter, with Star-Lord himself owning up to his error.
