10 Wakandan Gadgets & Weapons We Finally Want To See In Black Panther 3

Summary
  • Black Panther 3 could introduce powerful pieces of Wakandan technology and weapons not yet seen in the MCU, such as the King's Mercy sword, polarity guns and the Prowlers.
  • Wakanda's most formidable weapon, Project Koukou, could lead to some catastrophic events in the MCU's future, including potentially the destruction of Wakanda itself.
  • Marvel Studios' rumored World War Hulk project may see Shuri suit up in the Wakanda Hulkbuster armor to battle a raging Bruce Banner.
Some of the most impressive pieces of Wakandan technology have already been introduced to the MCU, but Marvel Studios' potential Black Panther 3 could debut those powerful pieces of equipment from Marvel Comics that haven't yet been seen in live-action. The secretive African nation of Wakanda first appeared in 2018's Black Panther following the late Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa's debut in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. Until Black Panther, Wakanda had done a good job of staying hidden from the outside world, using their advanced technology and mastery over vibranium to camouflage the entire nation, but since then, more and more pieces of Wakandan technology have been introduced to the MCU.
After the success of Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a third film in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther franchise is practically inevitable, though hasn't yet been officially announced. After Shuri's ascension to the role of Black Panther in the wake of T'Challa's tragic demise, and with the stability of Wakanda's relationship with the outside world in jeopardy, it's possible Black Panther 3 will introduce new pieces of Wakandan technology to help in battle. Marvel Comics' Wakanda, first seen in 1966's Fantastic Four #52, and its citizens have used some powerful pieces of technology that haven't yet been seen in the MCU, but could be beneficial in Black Panther 3.
Related10 Black Panther 3 Theories We Already Hope Come TrueBlack Panther 3 hasn't yet been confirmed to be in development, but there are already several theories about what could happen in the MCU sequel. 10 The King's Mercy Sword Makes Its User A Better Fighter King's Mercy Is A Royal Weapon In Marvel Comics The King's Mercy sword was first seen in Marvel Comics' Marauders #13 in 2020, and was wielded by Wakandan King T'Chaka, introduced as a powerful royal weapon. Crafted finely from vibranium, the King's Mercy has special properties that enhance its wielders' strength and speed of attacks, making it a formidable asset in any battle. Described as the strongest sword in the world, the King's Mercy would be an excellent addition to Shuri's arsenal as the Black Panther in the MCU's future, and could allow a potential Black Panther 3 to expand on the mythos of Wakanda's previous Kings and Queens, including Shuri's father, T'Chaka, and his own ancestors.
T'Chaka, T'Challa and Shuri have all used a variety of impressive Wakandan weapons in the MCU, but the King's Mercy sword is by far the most powerful Wakandan tool, despite not having been seen in the MCU yet.
9 The Prowlers Can Protect Wakanda From Future Invaders The Prowlers Are A Measure Of Last Resort For Wakanda Close Wakanda's Prowlers are gigantic mechanical beast-like machines that protect the African nation as a last resort when faced by outside attackers. The Prowlers can only be deployed after a member of the Royal Family enters access codes, and can only be deactivated from within the Techno Organic Jungle. In the MCU, Wakanda has been attacked by ground forces several times: by Ulysses Klaue prior to Black Panther, by Killmonger from within, by Thanos in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, and by Namor in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. As such, it would make sense for Shuri to design the Prowlers in Black Panther 3, helping to safeguard Wakanda against future attacks.
8 Holopods Allow Wakandans To Make Even More Warriors Shuri Used Holopods To Create Illusions Of Herself Holopods are an ingenious piece of technology designed by Wakanda's weapons designer and chief scientific advisor N'lix in 2010's Black Panther (Vol. 5) #12. Designed for Shuri's Black Panther, the Holopods are blue, spherical objects that, when activated, allow the user to project multiple illusions of themselves. These illusions are so life-like that they even exhibit a heat signature as if they were real individuals, so Shuri could use this piece of technology in Black Panther 3 to expand Wakanda's army ten-fold and create multiple new - if temporary - Black Panthers. This would give Shuri a power similar to Asgardian God of Mischief Loki's illusion projection.
7 Energy Siphon Daggers Protect Wakandans From Psychic Manipulation Wakandans Use Energy Siphon Daggers For Interrogation Purposes First seen in Marvel Comics' Rise of the Black Panther #3 in 2018, the energy siphon daggers gifted T'Challa's Black Panther the ability to disrupt mental procedures. This allowed him to manipulate the cognitive function of prisoners to aid with interrogation, but the daggers could also be used to protect Wakandan citizens from outside psychic manipulation. This could become hugely important in the MCU's Black Panther 3, particularly with mutants and the X-Men set to debut in the MCU very soon. There are a number of powerful telepathic mutants who could infiltrate Wakanda in the MCU, so the energy siphon daggers could prove pivotal in protecting the nation's interests.
6 Polarity Guns Can Split Up Wakanda's Enemies Black Panther Used A Polarity Gun On The Fantastic Four Polarity guns are some of the oldest pieces of Wakandan tech seen in Marvel Comics, as they were introduced back in the Black Panther's first adventure in 1966's Fantastic Four #52. Polarity guns are capable of firing a blast of anti-magnetic energy, causing their targets to repel each other. In their first appearance, these weapons were used to split up the members of the Fantastic Four, but in the MCU, polarity guns could prove useful in breaking up oncoming enemy forces. Speculation suggests the MCU's Thunderbolts may attack Wakanda in Black Panther 3, so polarity guns could be used to break up the team and make them easier to battle.
5 Vibranium Knives Were Used By The X-Men Member Warpath Warpath Could Be A Member Of The MCU's X-Men Close James Proudstar, a.k.a. Warpath, debuted in Marvel Comics' New Mutants (Vol. 1) #16 in 1984 as a Native American mutant whose brother, prominent X-Men member Thunderbird, was killed during a mission. Warpath was initially seen as a villain, seeking revenge on the X-Men, but eventually became a staunch ally to the team, and was gifted a pair of vibranium Bowie knives upon his recruitment to the team in 2006's Uncanny X-Men #475. The X-Men will soon be debuting in the MCU, and Warpath could be featured as a member of the team. Additionally, Booboo Stewart could reprise his role of Warpath from 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past in an upcoming multiversal MCU project.
Several actors and characters from Fox's X-Men Universe have already been seen in the MCU, and more are set to appear in 2024's Deadpool 3, so it's possible that Booboo Stewart could reprise his role of Warpath from X-Men: Days of Future Past.
4 The Desert Sands Can Disrupt Electronic Signals Shuri's Black Panther Used Desert Sands In Marvel Comics Another clever piece of technology designed by N'lix for Shuri's Black Panther is the Desert Sands, which debuted in 2009's Black Panther (Vol. 5) #8. Relating to Wakanda's location in the African wilderness, the Desert Sands, when activated, release a dust cloud resembling a desert storm. While this can be used to confuse enemies, the Desert Sands also emit an electromagnetic pulse, bringing down any electric equipment within their vicinity. This could prove pivotal in Black Panther 3 should Wakanda be attacked by a force using high-tech equipment, such as the CIA-funded Thunderbolts. Luckily, the Desert Sands don't harm living beings, so would be a great asset to Shuri.
3 The Mikiya Can Take Wakandans Into Space Black Panther & America Chavez Used Mikiya In Marvel Comics First seen in 2015's Avengers (Vol. 6) #0, the Mikiya is a Wakandan-crafted interstellar spacecraft, enabling the citizens of Wakanda to travel throughout space on cosmic adventures. In Marvel Comics, the Mikiya helps T'Challa and America Chavez travel into space on their attempt to seal a hole in the fabric of reality. This could be hugely important to the MCU's future, especially after 2023's The Marvels featured a similar hole in the universe, though this one was sealed by Monica Rambeau's Photon. With 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars expected to explore a major multiversal story, the Mikiya could be used to bring Wakandan warriors across the cosmos.
2 Project Koukou Could Be Used Against Wakanda's Future Attackers The Vibranium Shock Bomb Can Eliminate A Target Easily Designed as a deterrent to outside invaders, Project Koukou is one of Wakanda's most formidable and terrifying weapons, and could seriously alter the landscape of the MCU. Introduced in Marvel Comics' Rise of the Black Panther #3, Project Koukou was the codename for a Wakandan weapon of mass destruction: a vibranium Shock Bomb that could obliterate any of Wakanda's enemies with a force equivocal or greater than a nuclear warhead. If introduced to the MCU, Project Koukou could hint at a major war between Wakanda and the outside world in Black Panther 3, and could potentially even lead to the destruction of Wakanda or Namor's underwater city of Talokan.
1 Wakanda's Hulkbuster Can Bring Down The Hulk Black Panther Uses The Hulkbuster Against Marvel Comics' Amadeus Cho Close Iron Man's Hulkbuster has been seen several times in the MCU since 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Wakanda's version of the bulky armor hasn't yet been seen. The Wakanda Hulkbuster debuted in 2016's Totally Awesome Hulk #6, and was used by T'Challa's Black Panther to battle a raging Amadeus Cho, a.k.a. Brawn. The MCU introduction of the Wakanda Hulkbuster could provide yet another tease to one highly-anticipated potential MCU project: Marvel Studios' World War Hulk. If Bruce Banner's Hulk rampages through Wakanda, Shuri could use the Wakanda Hulkbuster in Black Panther 3 and beyond to battle the dangerous and unpredictable Avenger.
Tony Stark's Iron Man first used the Hulkbuster to subdue the Hulk during his rampage in Johannesburg in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The armor was then seen in Avengers: Infinity War, used by Bruce Banner to operate as the Hulk without a physical transformation.
