Loki Season 2 Secretly Set Up Avengers 5"s Big Villains According To Clever MCU Theory
Warning! This post contains spoilers for Loki season 2
Summary
- The TVA's new mission to only target dangerous Kang variants instead of pruning entire timelines may inadvertently lead to the formation of the Council of Kangs.
- Pruning problematic Kangs could result in powerful Kang variants meeting in The Void and establishing the Council of Kangs, as seen with Loki variants in season 1.
- The timing of the TVA's actions and the Council's formation is not an issue due to the TVA's location outside of time, and the Council's arena-like structure may be located in The Void.
The MCU has been slowly building to an epic confrontation between the Avengers and the Council of Kangs, and the
Loki season 2 finale may have finally explained how the villainous group comes together. It initially seemed as though a single Kang variant - Kang the Conqueror - would be the central villain of the MCU's Multiverse Saga, but his apparent death at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania seems to imply that won't be the case. Instead, Quantumania's post-credits scene introduces the Council of Kangs, a massive collection of Kang variants headed by Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, and Immortus.
However, it's hitherto unknown how these three Kangs came in contact with each other and why they're seemingly willing to work together despite the Kangs' penchant for infighting and war. While the MCU will likely hold that exact answer close to the chest for a while longer, the end of the Loki season 2 finale teases what may be the group's catalyst for formation. The TVA's new mission is to stop pruning innocent lives and instead only target dangerous Kang variants, but this attempt at compassion and curated intervention may inadvertently cause the Avengers' next big threat to form.
