Beast Boy’s Solo Episode Creates A Titans Time Travel Paradox
Beast Boy's trip through The Red in
Titans season 4, episode 9, "Dude, Where's My Gar?" allows him to reconnect with his younger self, which seems to create a logical paradox. DC is no stranger to time travel, as Grant Gustin's Flash, Ezra Miller's Barry Allen, and even Christopher Reeves' Superman have traveled back in time in their respective live-action stories. Now, Ryan Potter's Beast Boy joins them in Titans, where Gar Logan briefly goes back in time to interact with his child self.
What allows Gar to travel, not only through time but also through the DC multiverse, is The Red, a mystical force of nature that binds all living beings with each other. As metahumans who are particularly close to animals, heroes such as Vixen, Animal Man, and Beast Boy are more in tune with this cosmic force, which is also deeply intertwined with the fabric of the multiverse. By Titans season 4, Gar Logan is ready to fully tap into The Red, allowing him to jump between the Titans universe and the rest of the DC multiverse, as well as travel to the past.
