MCU Phase 4 & 5"s Lack Of Avengers Movies Repeats An Infinity Saga Mistake
The MCU's lack of
Avengers movies in the Multiverse Saga worsens a mistake already present in the Infinity Saga. The Avengers' team-up events are one of the main appeals of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as they highlight the interconnected nature of the franchise. The main members of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes carried the weight of the entire MCU throughout the Infinity Saga, and their victories and defeat shaped the MCU as audiences know it today.
After the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Avengers team is now very different, with several new heroes ready to join and try to fill the void left by Black Widow, Iron Man, and Steve Rogers. However, it seems like a new Avengers team won't be officially created until Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. This exceptionally long time between Avengers movies not only means that the MCU is failing to capitalize on the concept of the Avengers, but also that the new heroes will be less of a team than the original group used to be.
The Avengers Were Rarely A Team In The Infinity Saga

As the first Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye are the heart and soul of the MCU. However, the MCU rarely showed the original Avengers as a full-fledged team throughout the Infinity Saga. They spent most of The Avengers setting aside their differences and only formed the group during the final battle, then stayed as a team for most of Avengers: Age of Ultron's runtime, only to split up at the end and fight each other in Captain America: Civil War without Thor and Hulk even present. By Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers could barely call themselves a team, and by the time all MCU heroes assembled in Avengers: Endgame, Black Widow and Vision were already dead, while Iron Man and Captain America were already on their way out.
