How Marvel"s Thunderbolts Can Have Its Very Own Iron Man

Marvel's Thunderbolts has an opportunity to recruit its very own Iron Man. Currently being assembled by CIA Director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, the Thunderbolts will become an Avengers replacement (albeit a more covert team of antiheroes working for the US government). However, there's now a chance for the team to recruit an armored agent to their ranks, one far more aggressive and violent than Tony Stark ever was.
Announced during Marvel Studios' panel at D23 Expo 2022, it's been confirmed that Val is assembling a team that will come together in earnest with 2024's Thunderbolts. Having already recruited John Walker's U.S. Agent and Yelena Belova, Val has her counterparts for Captain America and Black Widow. The team will also feature Ghost, Taskmaster, and Red Guardian. Likewise, it's also been confirmed that Bucky Barnes' Winter Soldier will serve as the team's leader in the field. However, the recent confirmation that Jon Bernthal will be reprising his role as The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again could have major implications for the Thunderbolts.
