DC’s New Batman Movie Can Finally Leave Nolan’s Dark Knight Legacy Behind
DC Universe’s
The Brave and the Bold can finally move Batman movies from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Following the confirmation that Robert Pattinson’s Batman would not be part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe, a new Batman movie was announced with no ties to Matt Reeves’ The Batman. The Brave and the Bold’s cast and director have yet to be announced, with the film taking place in the DC Universe’s Chapter 1: Gods & Monsters.
With The Batman’s sequel, The Batman - Part 2 happening while a new Batman movie series for the DC Universe enters development, there will now be two separate cinematic Batman franchises for the first time in years. The Batman was a critical and commercial success, but it was never supposed to be part of a shared universe. Therefore, audiences will get to see new sides of Batman in a separate franchise without the necessity of a reboot.
