Sandberg clears up claims of possible Gal Gadot deep fake being used in the movie for Wonder Woman's cameo. Shazam 2 continued the original Shazam!'s gag of including a DC hero cameo. While the first movie featured a headless Superman cameo, since Henry Cavill's situation as the Man of Steel was messy at the time, Shazam! Fury of the Gods full-on included Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. However, some are skeptical of the actress shooting new scenes for the movie.
On Twitter, Sandberg cleared up any doubts, confirming Gadot herself was there on set to avoid any comparison between Wonder Woman's cameo and Superman's headless scene from the original.
According to the director, Gadot could not make it to the set in Atlanta at first, which is why the Wonder Woman scene had to be done with body double Taylor Cahill, who was also present in the movie's hilarious Wonder Woman date scene, where The Wizard projects himself onto Diana's face to warn Billy that villains were searching for him. Both scenes ended up being better than Shazam!'s headless Superman cameo.
