Ahsoka Show Trailer Breakdown: 13 Story Reveals & Star Wars Secrets

The first Ahsoka trailer has been revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2023, with the footage offering plenty in the way of huge Star Wars connections. After making the jump to live-action in The Mandalorian season 2, Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Tano will star in her own Disney+ show centered on her search for both Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn. From the many rumors about certain plot points showing up, Ahsoka is all but confirmed as a sequel to Star Wars Rebels.
With Star Wars Celebration 2023 offering plenty of insights into Lucasfilm's future regarding the Star Wars franchise, many expected the first trailer for Ahsoka to come in the show's own panel. However, with the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase panel that opened Star Wars Celebration, the first Ahsoka show trailer was released.
Here is a breakdown of every major reveal, Star Wars connection, and story point shown for the upcoming Disney+ release.
13 Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano Returns To Star Wars As was expected after The Mandalorian season 2, Ahsoka returns to live-action Star Wars played by Rosario Dawson. The Ahsoka trailer describes the titular character as a warrior, outcast, rebel, and Jedi as she scours the galaxy attempting to stop Thrawn's rise. From investigating Force-related temples to fighting new evil Force users and reuniting with her Rebels compatriots, Ahsoka promises a huge Star Wars return for Rosario Dawson in the title role.
12 Ahsoka Trailer Showcases A Lothal-Like Jedi Temple The first moments of the Ahsoka trailer show the titular former Jedi combing the ruins of a temple of sorts. The ruins look akin to the Lothal Jedi Temple, a location that was hugely important in the story of Rebels. While unlikely to be the same temple, it is clear that Ahsoka's search for Ezra and Thrawn will take her to many locations strong with the Force. This is further enforced by the World Between Worlds-like marketing for Ahsoka, which could potentially link to many Jedi Temples across the galaxy.
11 Lucasfilm's Official Logo Hints At The Darkness Of Ahsoka Shortly after the trailer's cold open in which Ahsoka says she can sense darkness coming, Lucasfilm's iconic logo fades in and out. However, rather than the usual bright silver color scheme of the logo, it is a deep, vibrant red. This links to the words of Ahsoka preceding it, and hints at the dark story on the horizon for the Ahsoka series.
10 Ahsoka Trailer Offers First Look At Live-Action Sabine Wren After it was announced that Sabine Wren would play a central role in Ahsoka, the trailer offered the first look at Natasha Liu Bordizzo's Mandalorian. The trailer showcases the live-action debut of Sabine, staring down at her Mandalorian helmet, seemingly gearing up for the search for Ezra. Following moments then offers a look at Sabine and Ahsoka's reunion, with the former stating it has been a while, before the latter says things have changed.
9 Hera Syndulla Makes Her Star Wars Live-Action Debut, Played By Mary Elizabeth Winstead In arguably the biggest surprise of the Ahsoka trailer, Hera Syndulla makes her live-action debut, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. In the trailer, Hera is shown as she was in Rebels, a daring, brave, courageous pilot outlying and outgunning her pursuers. Interestingly, a later shot shows Hera giving a speech of sorts to New Republic pilots, hinting at her role in Star Wars' post-Return of the Jedi government.
