The Problems With Marvel Making Doctor Doom MCU"s Secret Wars Villain

Despite his significance in the comics, Doctor Doom should not be the main villain in Avengers: Secret Wars. The MCU has subtly laid breadcrumbs as they’ve laid the foundations for the Multiverse Saga from its true commencement in Loki to most recently, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Aptly, both saw the introduction of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror and his various variants. Now it’s even more interesting to consider what to expect from the rest of the saga and especially how certain projects like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Blade, and Deadpool 3 will all continue to play into the overarching narrative.
Following Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania killing off Kang - although his demise may not be what it seems - the MCU didn’t hesitate to introduce his replacements. Presumably, his variants, the Council of Kangs, led by Immortus, Rama-Tut, and Scarlet Centurion, will be recurring antagonists as the franchise trudges along to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Naturally, that film’s title indicates how important Kang is, but Avengers: Secret Wars may be a different case. The film's full potential and scope far exceed Avengers: Endgame's, yet at this point, Avengers: Secret Wars’ official main antagonist is unconfirmed. Nevertheless, the writing is certainly on the wall.
