The new DC Universe has quite a few popular choices among fans to play Wonder Woman, even though Diana Prince does not have a project set to debut just yet. Gal Gadot became famous for playing Wonder Woman in the DCEU. However, after Wonder Woman 1984 ended up being a controversial release and the DCEU was replaced with James Gunn"s DCU, it seems like she will not return for the DCU"s movie slate.
While the role"s recasting has not outright been stated, the negative trend for Gadot started when Wonder Woman 3 was canceled. Then, the actress said that she had talks with DC Studios co-CEOs Gunn and Peter Safran, and they would develop the movie together, only for reports to debunk it. In July, Gunn revealed on Threads that Wonder Woman had not been cast yet, seemingly confirming Gadot is out, which increases chances for some fan-favorite picks for Diana Prince.
