As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, the Tourism Board (HKTB) has announced a lineup of five exciting events to be held along the Victoria Harbour waterfront.
The festivities kick off this Saturday (Jun 8) with the Summer Chill Food Lane at Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui. Ten food stalls will offer a variety of specialty summer drinks and treats, including handcrafted beer, Hong Kong-style milk tea, cold-brew coffee, coconut desserts, and more.
A LINE FRIENDS-themed pop-up store and photo spots will also be available for visitors to grab limited-edition merchandise commemorating the dragon boat races and capture memorable moments along the Avenue.
On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival (Jun 10), the Wan Chai harbourfront will host an amazing drone performance. The 1,000 drones will form intricate and dynamic patterns in the sky featuring rice dumplings, dragon boat races as well as flying dragons.
A dazzling pyrotechnics display will take place on June 15, with smiley faces and the letters "HK" lighting up the Wan Chai skyline.
The Tourism Board will offer spectators free ice cream on both display evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm.
The festivities highlight is the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races, which will take place on June 15 and 16 off the Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade.
The event will showcase 17 races, with participation from over 170 teams representing 12 countries and regions, including Singapore, Japan, the UAE, and Thailand.
