10 Important MCU Characters Who Could Return In Marvel’s Upcoming 2024 WandaVision Sequel
Summary
- Several WandaVision characters are returning in Agatha All Along, but other MCU characters could potentially make surprise appearances.
- Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch both have history with either magic or Agatha Harkness in the MCU.
- The Marvel show could also reintroduce new versions of past MCU characters like Wiccan, Speed, and possibly Quicksilver.
Marvel's upcoming WandaVision spinoff,
Agatha All Along, could mark the return of many important and powerful MCU characters. Created by WandaVision's Jac Schaeffer, Agatha All Along is scheduled for release on Disney+ in September, and will bring Kathryn Hahn's powerful Salem witch Agatha Harkness back to the MCU following her debut in Phase 4. Other WandaVision characters are also expected to return in Agatha All Along, namely the residents of Westview, New Jersey - and they could be joined by other notable MCU characters.
The cast of Agatha All Along has already been confirmed to feature the returns of Debra Jo Rupp and Emma Caulfield Ford in their WandaVision roles, among others. Kate Forbes will also be returning as Agatha's mother, Evanora Harkness, presumably in flashbacks to Agatha Harkness' early years.
While several new MCU additions will be joining Hahn, it's also possible that characters connected to the world of magic and mysticism could also appear in Agatha All Along, including some incredibly powerful sorcerers, mutant heroes, and even multiversal villains.

10 Stephen Strange’s Doctor Strange Doctor Strange & Agatha Harkness Are Both Powerful Sorcerers Close Not much is known about Agatha Harkness' MCU history, but
it's likely that she has crossed paths with Masters of the Mystic Arts at some point prior to WandaVision. Agatha's connection to the world of magic means the MCU's most notable sorcerer, Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, could easily appear in Agatha All Along. After Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Strange is on a journey to thwart incursions, but could return in the MCU's Phase 5 if necessitated by the events of Agatha All Along.
Doctor Strange has been set up as a key Multiverse Saga hero, but hasn't been seen since 2022. Agatha All Along presents the perfect opportunity to advance his storyline. Additionally,
Agatha Harkness was in possession of the Darkhold for some time before WandaVision, and the Book of the Damned played a huge role in Multiverse of Madness, so Doctor Strange could find Agatha as a means to learn more about the book itself.
Related Doctor Strange’s Complete MCU Timeline Explained Benedict Cumberbatch has portrayed Doctor Stephen Strange since his eponymous 2016 film, Doctor Strange, and has been on quite the journey in the MCU.
9 Vision Vision Could Return To Westview In Search Of Wanda Maximoff Close WandaVision marked the debut of a new version of Paul Bettany's Vision, now with a sleeker, white design. WandaVision's finale saw White Vision and the fabricated Vision fight in Westview, with the former eventually having his memories restored, prompting him to fly away to locations unknown. While Marvel Studios has confirmed a new Vision series for 2026,
White Vision could return to Westview in Agatha All Along, perhaps attempting to retrace his steps and search for Wanda Maximoff.
Vision has had a tumultuous journey in the MCU since his introduction in Avengers: Age of Ultron. White Vision will presumably be trying to rediscover himself and recollect his previous life prior to his death at the hands of Thanos. Westview is an important location in Wanda and Vision's history, so his return to his former home is possible in Agatha All Along, setting up his upcoming MCU series.
Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas has been hired as the showrunner of the MCU's new Vision series, set to release in 2026.
8 Peggy Carter Peggy Carter Could Be Revived As Dryad In Agatha All Along Close Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter may be an unexpected addition to Agatha All Along, but she has a strange connection to Agatha Harkness and the world of magic in Marvel Comics that could constitute her involvement. Following her death from old age in in the comics, Peggy Carter was resurrected as Dryad by the sentient Cosmic Cube.
As Dryad, Carter led the Daughters of Liberty, an all-female superhero group who were taught magic by Agatha Harkness, consisting of other heroes, including Shuri, Black Widow, and the Invisible Woman.
Agatha All Along could see the MCU's original Peggy Carter revived and rejuvenated as Dryad, following her death in Captain America: Civil War. This would be a fantastic way to continue Carter's story, alongside Hayley Atwell's recent appearances as Captain Carter in the Multiverse Saga. This could also
pay off Avengers: Endgame's all-female team-up tease, bringing together the Daughters of Liberty instead of A-Force.
7 Wong Wong Is The MCU’s Sorcerer Supreme Close While Doctor Strange may be the face of the Masters of the Mystic Arts in the MCU, it's actually Benedict Wong's Wong who is the Sorcerer Supreme. This significant role in the world of magic means it's very likely that Wong could make a cameo appearance in Agatha All Along, especially after his repeated appearances in several Multiverse Saga projects.
Wong has been teased to be building a new superpowered team of his own, and Agatha Harkness could be a formidable addition.

Wong fought against the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has expressed an intimate knowledge of the Darkhold and Mount Wundagore, and is known to keep tabs on magic-users across the MCU. Just as he tracked down Donny Blaze in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,
Wong could cross paths with Agatha Harkness in Agatha All Along,
perhaps convincing her to use her magic more responsibly.
6 Pietro Maximoff’s Quicksilver Agatha Can Resurrect Beings From The Dead Close Technically, the MCU's version of Quicksilver hasn't been seen since his death in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it's possible that a return could be due in Agatha All Along. Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Maximoff may have only had a short-lived career in the MCU, but
WandaVision teased Quicksilver's return in the form of Evan Peters. Though it was widely speculated to be confirmation of a multiverse Quicksilver, Peters' role was later revealed to be a ruse created by Agatha Harkness.
WandaVision episode 8, "Previously On," saw Agatha Harkness display her ability to resurrect dead beings, as she brought a bug back to life to disturb Wanda Maximoff.
She could repeat this resurrection process with Pietro Maximoff, perhaps as a means to seek redemption after tormenting Wanda in the MCU's Phase 4. This would be a fantastic way to bring back Quicksilver in the MCU.

5 Tommy Maximoff's Speed Agatha All Along Could Bring Back Another MCU Speedster Close If Quicksilver doesn't return to the MCU in Agatha All Along, it's possible the series could bring back a different speeding superhero. Jett Klyne debuted as Tommy Maximoff's Speed in WandaVision, and while the illusory child of the Scarlet Witch and Vision was killed off in the Phase 4 series, he could be reincarnated as a new character in the MCU's future. In Marvel Comics,
Tommy Shepherd realizes he is the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch, and Agatha All Along is perfectly primed to introduce him.
Following speculation that the reincarnated version of the Scarlet Witch and Vision's other son, Billy Maximoff, will appear in Agatha All Along, Tommy Shepherd could join him. In lieu of Quicksilver, this could introduce another speedster into the MCU, and another potential member of the MCU's upcoming Young Avengers team. By bringing back Speed, Agatha All Along could include another new powerful hero.
4 Billy Maximoff's Wiccan Wiccan's New Form Is Already Rumored To Appear In Agatha All Along Close Along with Tommy Shepherd's Speed, Agatha All Along could feature the return of Wiccan. Billy Maximoff was played by Julian Hilliard in WandaVision, inheriting some of the magical powers of his mother, the Scarlet Witch. Much like his brother, however, Billy Maximoff didn't survive the events of WandaVision, but Agatha All Along has been rumored to be including Billy Kaplan, the reincarnated version of Maximoff, who may be portrayed by Heartstopper's Joe Locke.
Both Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd are prominent members of the Young Avengers in Marvel Comics, so their introductions in Agatha All Along could be a huge mark of progress for the upcoming MCU superhero team. Since
Joe Locke is already speculated to be portraying Billy Kaplan in Agatha All Along, it seems as though this return is all but inevitable. This could even open the door for the Scarlet Witch herself to continue her redemption arc.
Related 10 Actors Who Should Play Wiccan And Hulkling In The MCU There is no doubt that Wiccan and Hulkling are going to be introduced into the MCU, but it is still a mystery as to who will be cast as the couple.
3 Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel Ms. Marvel Has Been Forming The MCU’s Young Avengers Close If Billy and Tommy Maximoff return in their reincarnated forms in Agatha All Along, Marvel Studios could be taking more steps to set up the MCU's Young Avengers. The most recent Young Avengers setup occurred in the final moments of 2023's The Marvels, which saw Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan approach Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop with the prospect of forming the team.
With Wiccan and Speed potentially making their returns to the MCU, Ms. Marvel could track them down, too.
Ms. Marvel is one of the most exciting recent additions to the MCU, especially since she is the franchise's first on-screen mutant, and the presumed leader of the Young Avengers team.
It makes sense that Marvel Studios would want to bring super-fan Vellani back in as many upcoming MCU projects as possible, and recruiting Wiccan and Speed for the Young Avengers could constitute her appearance in Agatha All Along.
Kamala Khan also teased Kathryn Newton's Cassie Lang, Ant-Man's daughter, as a member of the Young Avengers in The Marvels.
2 Wanda Maximoff’s Scarlet Witch The Scarlet Witch’s Return To The MCU Is All But Inevitable Close Agatha Harkness' connection to Wanda Maximoff has made the Scarlet Witch one of the most heavily-rumored characters set to appear in Agatha's upcoming series. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ended with the Scarlet Witch's apparent death, which Marvel Studios has since confirmed. Nevertheless,
Elizabeth Olsen has been long-rumored to be returning to the MCU, with Wanda being resurrected somehow, and Agatha All Along is the perfect place for this to happen.
In Marvel Comics, Agatha Harkness is something of a mentor to the Scarlet Witch, and this relationship would be excellent to explore in live-action.
Agatha did help Wanda come to terms with her past and embrace her identity of the Scarlet Witch in WandaVision, so this could continue in Agatha All Along. With the prospect of Wanda's reincarnated sons appearing in Phase 5, too, the Scarlet Witch's return is highly anticipated.

1 Kang The Conqueror Agatha Harkness Battled A Powerful Kang Variant In Marvel Comics Close Throughout the Multiverse Saga, Kang and his villainous variants have been set up as the MCU's new primary antagonists, taking over from Thanos. Despite his prominence in Loki seasons 1 and 2, and in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,
Kang's future in the MCU is uncertain because of Jonathan Majors' 2023 reckless assault conviction and firing from Marvel Studios. Agatha All Along could be a surprising place for Kang to be recast, however.
In Marvel Comics,
Agatha Harkness' battle with Kang variant Immortus makes the villain's return in Agatha All Along all the more likely. Back in 1990, Agatha Harkness saved the Scarlet Witch from Immortus, and later helped the Avengers in battling the powerful villain. If Kang is involved in
Agatha All Along, Agatha Harkness could begin to cement herself as a bona fide superhero in the MCU.
