Chris Hemsworth Addresses Deadpool & Wolverine’s Revealed Thor Scene

Summary
  • Chris Hemsworth was unaware Marvel included Thor in Deadpool & Wolverine.
  • Thor appeared in CinemaCon footage crying over a dying Deadpool.
  • Hemsworth recently commented on Thor 5 and making it right after Thor: Love and Thunder.
Chris Hemsworth has addressed Thor's appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. Hemsworth's latest role as the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe came in the divisive Thor: Love and Thunder. Now, following his latest solo movie, Hemsworth's Thor will return to the MCU in 2024 as part of Deadpool & Wolverine's long list of characters; however, that does not mean that the MCU star has shot new material for the role.
Speaking to ComicBook.com (via @BrandonDavisBD/Twitter), Hemsworth revealed that he had no idea Marvel used Thor in Deadpool & Wolverine. Thor appeared in CinemaCon footage released of Deadpool & Wolverine, with Thor crying over a dying Deadpool whose mask had been partially ripped off.
Hemsworth having no idea about the cameo makes sense, as the Deadpool and Wolverine scene repurposed a moment from Thor: The Dark World, taking out Tom Hiddleston's Loki and replacing him with Reynolds' Wade Wilson to fit Deadpool & Wolverine's story.

What Chris Hemsworth's Thor Scene Reaction Suggests About Deadpool & Wolverine The Multiverse Will Play A Huge Role In The MCU Film Custom image by Debanjana Chowdhury In the CinemaCon footage, Thor quickly appears, with the character holding Deadpool in his arms and crying as Reynolds' Merc With a Mouth dies. The scene is shown on one of the TVA monitors that appeared in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailers. After Wade watches the moment unfold and is horrified by his death, the TVA's Agent Paradox quickly tries to change what is being shown on the monitor because he was not supposed to see it, as it happens in the "distant future."
While the scene is teased as being a future event, the Thor moment in Deadpool & Wolverine was achieved through old repurposed footage of Thor: The Dark World. With Hemsworth not returning to shoot new material for the 2024 MCU movie and not even being aware that Thor was going to show up in the film before it was raised in the interview, fans should not expect a role bigger than a quick cameo for the God of Thunder.
Hemsworth's reaction to the scene also likely means that there are no other multiverse surprises including Thor for the MCU movie, despite all the rumored Deadpool & Wolverine characters. That does not mean that Deadpool and Thor cannot meet in the future. While the scene was not something Hemsworth shot for the film, Paradox did tease it as a future event in the MCU. With two Avengers movies coming in the Multiverse Saga, Thor and Deadpool could meet and team up, with the Deadpool & Wolverine cameo playing a key role in one of the films.
Deadpool & Wolverine R A sequel to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first film in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Ryan Reynolds is returning to play the character, alongside Hugh Jackman, reprising his Wolverine role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time.
